JOSÉ JAVIER VILLAMARÍN HIDALGO

José Javier Villamarín is Licensed in Public and Social Sciences, holds a Doctorate in Jurisprudence and serves as attorney of the Republic at the Central University of Ecuador, in the Faculty of Law. Villamarín specializes in International Business and Trade, granted by the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador, Faculty of Administrative and Accounting Sciences department. He is officially-recognized as an expert in intellectual property by the Ecuadorian National Judicial Council. He took the respective courses to obtain a Master's degree in Regional Integration and International Cooperation at the Center of Studies of International Relations of Rosario (CERIR, Argentina), and the Post-graduate Refresher Course in intellectual property (Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina).

Villamarín has international degrees in: Intellectual Property, Economy, Regional Integration International Trade, with particular reference to the obligations deriving from participation in the World Trade Organization, International Relations, Community Law, Integration Law, International Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation. José Javier Villamarín has held positions as Exponent and Lectured national and international forums in: Intellectual Property, New Technologies, and Economic Dimension of Cultural Industries; Knowledge Management, Intellectual Property Management. Similarly, Privatization and Government Modernization Processes of International Relations, Economic and Social Rights in Regional Integration Processes, Dispute Settlement, Chemical Industry Innovation, Negotiation, Law of the Sea, Economic Growth and Social Development, Corporations as Subjects of International Law.

 

Villamarín is Academic Associate to Ecuadorian Institute of Economic Policy. He was Member of the Editorial Board of the TINTA JURÍDICA and Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law, SEK International University (Ecuador). He was also reviewer in the Ibero-American Conference in System, Cybernetics and Computer Science between 2003 to 2005, and between 2013 to 2014 (Orlando, Florida, United States). He was awarded the Argentine Republic government scholarship, of the bilateral cooperation program with Ecuador (1999-2002). His scholarship was later expanded based on academic merit.

 

He provided his professional services to Fabara & Guerrero and Fabara y Cia., between 2004 and 2005; and then, between 2008 and 2015, respectively. He passed it on to Andean Court of Justice in 1999 and 2005. He has published an opinion articles in several newspapers including: El Comercio, El Universo, Ecuadorian Institute of Economic Policy (Ecuador), Tiempos del mundo (Colombia), El Nuevo Herald, CATO Institute, Panam Post (United States), and other medias.
